Tell Us a Little About Yourself

Hello! I'm Heather Donohue & Family, and we live in beautiful Fallon, Nevada. We raise our Australian Shepherds on our small ranch, where we also care for cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. In addition to being a breeder, I am a wife, mother, and small business owner.

Double H Australian Shepherds is truly a family endeavor. My husband, daughter, and I work together to care for our dogs and puppies every day. From helping with daily chores and socialization to spending time with each puppy as they grow, our entire family is involved in giving them the best possible start in life.

Much of my time is spent with my daughter, our dogs, and supporting local youth through 4-H and FFA. I volunteer and coach young exhibitors with their livestock projects, which is one of my greatest passions. Helping the next generation develop responsibility, confidence, and a love for agriculture is incredibly rewarding.

How Did You Get Into Breeding?

I have loved Australian Shepherds for as long as I can remember and dreamed of owning one from a young age. While completing a veterinary internship in North Dakota, I had the opportunity to bring home my first Australian Shepherd. That experience only deepened my appreciation for the breed.

As my interest grew, I began studying canine health, genetics, structure, and responsible breeding practices. What started as a love for the breed quickly became a true passion. Today, I am committed to producing healthy, well-rounded Australian Shepherds that excel as loyal companions, working partners, and cherished family members.

What Makes Your Breeding Program Special?

At Double H Australian Shepherds, every dog is first and foremost a member of our family. Our dogs enjoy an active, enriched lifestyle on the ranch, where they have plenty of room to run, play, and thrive alongside our family and livestock.

We place a strong emphasis on the health, temperament, and overall well-being of every dog and puppy in our program. From an early age, our puppies receive extensive socialization and are introduced to a variety of people, animals, environments, and everyday experiences. This foundation helps them grow into confident, adaptable companions that are well-prepared for life with their new families.

Because we are a small, family-operated program, every puppy receives individual attention, care, and affection from day one. We take pride in providing lifelong support to our puppy families and carefully matching each puppy with a home where they will be loved and valued for years to come.
